Manchester Schools Seek Items For Multimedia King Tribute
The district's annual Gospel Chorus performance and tribute to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in January was canceled for 2021.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township School District is seeking submissions for a virtual event to honor Martin Luther King Jr.
The coronavirus pandemic forced the district to cancel its annual tribute to the civil rights leader that centers on a performance by the Manchester Schools Gospel Chorus. That event is usually held in January, near the Jan. 15 holiday that honors King.
The district is planning a multimedia presentation set for Feb. 26. Evelyn Swift, who is organizing the event, said the committee is seeking submissions to help them create “a montage of moments” from past tributes.

The committee welcomes submissions from the public, and all the material will be edited by MTHS21 students under the direction of Keith Eckert.
Anyone wishing to submit material — videos, photos, readings. Recitations, song lyric interpretations, or reflections from past participants on the event — is asked to fill out the following participation form.

The multimedia presentation also will include tributes to Selena Bullock, who gave many volunteer hours to the Gospel Chorus and was a paraprofessional at Whiting Elementary School. Bullock died in October at age 49.
