UPDATE: Manchester Cancels Memorial Day Parade
Expected stormy weather led to the decision, officials said.

MANCHESTER, NJ -- UPDATE, 5 p.m. Sunday: A forecast calling for storms Monday has led to the decision to cancel Monday's Memorial Day parade, Manchester officials said.
"Due to the impending weather, we have cancelled the Memorial Day parade," Mayor Ken Palmer announced in a post on Facebook. "While we will miss the parade, please say a prayer or take a few moments to think about those who have lost their lives for us."

Manchester Township is hosting its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, with ceremonies at the Grand Army Memorial in Pine Lake Park.
Marchers will gather at the intersection of Commonwealth and Southampton boulevards at 9:15 a.m. and the parade begins at 10 a.m. The parade will conclude at the memorial, located at Wellington Avenue and Oakdale Street, where guest speakers will offer remarks commemorating the day.

Groups are invited to march in the parade, and children are invited to decorate their bicycles patriotically and participate in the parade. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated bicycles. Children must wear bicycle helmets.
The township also welcomes all to place wreaths or flowers at the memorial. Any group that would like to place a wreath at the memorial should call the Department of Public Works at 732-657-8121, ext. 3310 to register.
