Manchester Shifts Schools To Remote Learning Over Internet Issues
Students and staff will be remote while the school district gets the problem fixed.
MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township students and staff are holding school remotely Monday through Wednesday due to issues with the district's internet connection, officials said.
Manchester Superintendent David Trethaway said there have been repeated issues in the last week, resulting in "students and families being unable to connect to the instruction from our teaching staff."
" This has had a negative impact on our students who are receiving instruction remotely as well as causing several issues with students who are receiving in-person instruction," he said.

Trethaway on Monday said the issue was occurring in the district's system but that teachers were able to teach remotely from home with no disruptions to the connections.
The district's internet provider is installing "additional safeguards to ensure that these interruptions in service do not continue."

Trethaway said they hope the work will be completed Wednesday.
The entire district, including the Regional Day School, will be receiving remote instruction while the problems are addressed.
Vocational students should follow the same procedures as a remote Wednesday on each of these days.
"It is important to note that no data or information has been lost due to these service interruptions," he said. "I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our students, staff, and families but unfortunately, this issue is beyond our local control and this step is necessary to ensure all of our students and staff are safe and able to receive instruction without any interruption of service."
