Route 70 Wawa In Whiting To Shut For Remodeling

MANCHESTER, NJ — Start making plans for where you'll get your coffee for a month: the Wawa at the intersection of Routes 70 and 539 will be closing for remodeling.

Wawa listed the store among a group of upcoming remodeling projects for stores across its chain, part of an update of its store designs and offerings.

The renovations started in 2018 and include 50 stores, the company's website said. Wawa is investing about $1 million in each remodeling project.

Wawa 948 at 1180 Route 70 will close Oct. 22 and is anticipated to reopen on Nov. 22, the company said.

The updated layouts aim to "advance efficiency and to support our expanded food and beverage" offerings, the website notes. Among the expanded offering are new hand-spun milkshakes.

Employees who work at that store will be reassigned to nearby stores during the remodeling, the company said.
