Power In The Pines Military Air Show At Joint Base This Weekend

The two-day show at McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst includes performances by the Army's Golden Knights, the Air Force F22 Raptors demo team and more.

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, NJ — If you love watching military jet pilots perform their stunts, or touring some of the equipment the military uses to protect the nation, get ready: the Power in the Pines is this coming weekend.

There will be aerial performances, along with time to tour military equipment from jets to tanks and much more at the free event, which is held every two years.

The show begins Friday, May 4, with a special access day for Department of Defense identification card holders only.

The main show is Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, and is scheduled to include the Air Force ACC F-22 Raptor Demo Team, Canadian Forces CF18 Demo Team, and the U.S. Army Golden Knights.

The gates open at 9 a.m. each day and aerial performances begin at 11 a.m. The 78th Army Band is scheduled to perform daily before the aerial performances start, and the group BMX Bikers — Hell On Wheels also is scheduled to perform in the mornings.

  • Experimental Short Tucano Demo
  • CRW Sling Load Demo

The event is being held on the McGuire Air Force Base portion of the base; access is through the main gate at the base, which is at the intersection of Routes 616 and 680 on the Burlington County side. Parking is free and there will be shuttle buses from more remote parking areas, base personnel said.
