​Ruth Plocinski, Ex-Editor Of Crestwood Village Sun, Dies At 89

She had moved to Crestwood Village in 1998 and was an active member of several clubs, her faimly said.

Ruth M. Plocinski of Largo, Florida, formerly of Manchester Township, NJ passed away in Largo Florida on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the age of 89.

Ruth was born in Elmwood Park, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Anna Heil. She graduated from Lodi High School. Ruth married Alexander Plocinski and resided in Elmwood Park until moving to Hopatcong, NJ where they raised their family. Ruth was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stanhope, NJ, where she served as a deacon and an elder, as well as taught Sunday School.

Ruth had a career in the banking industry until retiring in 1998. Upon her retirement, she moved to Manchester Township to be close to the Jersey Shore, as she loved being on the beach. In addition to the beach, Ruth enjoyed gardening and photography and was an active member of her community Garden Club, Photography Club and the Somebody Cares Organization, welcoming new residents and visitations. Ruth was also an editor of the Crestwood Village Sun, a local newspaper where she would occasionally contribute an article.

Ruth’s greatest love was for her family. She is survived by her loving children, Janis, Alexander, Joseph and Jeffrey; six grandchildren; her sister, Helen and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alexander.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on May 18, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Street, Liberty Corner, NJ.
