ShopRite Recalls Bakery Cookies; Did You Buy Them In Manchester?

MANCHESTER, NJ — If you bought store-baked or "take-and-bake" cookies from ShopRite in Manchester in the last few weeks, you need to check the package: ShopRite has recalled several varieties of store-made cookies baked with dough that may contain metal shavings, the company announced.

The recall applies to all varieties and sizes of store-baked and "take-and-bake" cookies sold in stores' Fresh Bake departments from July 19 and Aug. 15, the Mahwah-based company announced. The cookies were made with dough produced by Country Home Bakers, a division of J&J Snack Foods.

The cookies may contain pieces of metal shavings from Country Home Bakers' production facility.

"Customers who may have these cookies at home should stop eating them and return them to the store," Inserra Supermarkets said in a recall notice on the ShopRite website.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported. No other Fresh Bake department products are affected.
