MANCHESTER, NJ — The snow that fell Sunday will make it slow going Monday morning in Manchester, as freezing temperatures were making roads icy throughout the township.

The storm wasn’t nearly as extensive as the nor’easter that lingered for three days last week, but it was enough for the Manchester Township School District to declare a snow day, closing all of the district’s schools.

Manchester received nearly 6 inches of fresh snow on Sunday, after receiving a similar amount last week.

The effects of the nor’easter — and complaints about plowing — likely will be one of the topics at Monday’s Township Council meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be held via Zoom. Instructions for joining the meeting can be found here on the township’s website. The meeting agenda is online as well.

The council is scheduled for second readings of several ordinances, including one to purchase the Whiting First Aid building and one to ban short-term rentals in the township.

The council is continuing to meet remotely because of restrictions in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
