Storm Leaves Manchester With More Snow, Icy Roads
The hazardous driving prompted Manchester to shift all its schools, including Regional Day School, to remote instruction for Friday.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Snow and a lot of icy precipitation made a mess of the roads in Manchester on Thursday, and the effects of the storm were lingering into Friday.
Manchester sent out its plows as the snow was falling, and officials warned about unsafe driving conditions, which were expected to linger into Friday morning.
Manchester received more than 4 inches of snow, with 4.2 inches reported as of 6:20 p.m. according to the National Weather Service. A report from the Whiting section about 1:30 p.m. said the town had received 2 inches by that point, according to the National Weather Service.

While the township worked on the roads, the sleet and freezing rain made the roads hazardous, and with temperatures dropping overnight, the Manchester Township Schools shifted all students and staff to remote instruction for Friday. That includes the Regional Day School.
The district also rescheduled its meal pickup at the middle school and high school to Monday.

Statewide, New Jersey State Police said they responded to more than 400 crashes and assisted more than 270 motorists by 3 p.m. because of the hazardous conditions on the state’s roads.
