WATCH: Manchester Girls Basketball Team Wins Its First State Sectional Title
Breaking: The Lady Hawks now advance to the NJSIAA Group 2 semifinals.

MANCHESTER, NJ — For the first time in school history, the Manchester Township High School girls basketball team is a state champion.
The Lady Hawks captured the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 sectional title Monday night with a 34-33 victory over Middle Township on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Dejah Adams, according to tweets from the Manchester Township High School Sports Updates Twitter account.
The Lady Hawks, who finished with 24 wins, the most in program history, trailed Middle Township by five points with less than two minutes remaining. Manchester put Middle Township's Bridget Ruskey at the free throw line with 15.4 seconds remaining and she sank one to put the Panthers ahead 33-31. But Ruskey missed the next and Manchester's Asha Harper grabbed the rebound, according to the game recap on NJ.com. Manchester went on a fast break and put the ball in the hands of Adams, who sank the 3-pointer from the upper left side of the key. Middle Township then missed a last-second desperation shot, giving Manchester the victory.
