Woman Injured, Dog Dies In Manchester House Fire
The woman suffered smoke inhalation from the fire, which was ruled accidental, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A fire that destroyed a home in the Pine Ridge section of Manchester on Friday and killed the homeowner's pet has been ruled accidental, Manchester police said.
The fire on Tern Court in the Pine Ridge section was reported at 11:39 p.m. Friday, Manchester Lt. Vincent Manco said. When officers arrived flames were coming out the back door of the home, which was heavily engulfed, he said.
The woman who owned the home had escaped the fire but was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin by Manchester Township EMS for treatment of smoke inhalation, Manco said.

The fire was quickly extinguished by members of the Whiting Fire Company, the Manchester Fire Company, the Ridgeway Fire Company, the Lakehurst Fire Company, Joint Base McGuire Fire Department, and the Pinewald Pioneer Fire Department, he said.
The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s office investigated and determined the fire was caused by improperly discarded smoking material.
