Manville Has Highest Heroin Abuse Cases Reported In County

MANVILLE, NJ — Manville ranked the highest in Somerset County for reported heroin-abuse cases, according to New Jersey's recently released annual list reported by each community, revealing the most recent data of reported cases for 2018.
In 2018, Manville reported a total number of 85 heroin-abuse cases or 8.14 cases per 1,000 people.
Looking at those numbers in comparison to the other 549 towns reported on the list the borough ranked at 105th highest for the number of cases reported and 88th for cases per 1,000 people.

The statistics were recently released by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services in the New Jersey Department of Human Services, and they're based on the number of people seeking treatment for heroin abuse.
The state Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services have cautioned that these numbers are reported by each community, so each jurisdiction is responsible for reporting its results fairly and accurately. Please note that Patch did not include towns that had no reported cases.
