Manville Man Indicted For Attempted Murder After Sword Attack
Jared Razzano, 35, of Manville slashed a man with 3-foot sword in his head, arm and nearly severed 2 fingers over a parking spot: Police.

MANVILLE, NJ — Charges have been upgraded to attempted murder against a Manville man for allegedly slashing another borough resident with a sword several times over a parking spot. Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson announced.
A Somerset County grand jury returned an indictment against Jared Razzano, 35, of North 9th Avenue, Manville with one count of first-degree attempted murder in addition to one count of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
On June 13 at around 10:28 p.m., a 911 call reported an assault in the area of Knopf Street and North 9th Avenue in Manville.

When police arrived they found a 40-year-old Manville man suffering from several deep lacerations to his head, arm and also had two of his fingers nearly severed as a result of the assault, police report.
The victim was transported to an area trauma center and has since been released after undergoing several surgeries.

Further investigation by the Manville Police Department Detective Bureau found that after the victim moved his vehicle across the street, Razzano attacked the victim without provocation, using an approximately 3-foot sword that was worn by Razzano in a cross body sheath, according to the report.
An previous report that the victim hit the man with a four-foot aluminum contractor's level was found to be false following an investigation. (See Related: Manville Local Slashed Man With Sword Over Parking Spot: Police)
Razzano was arrested at the scene and is currently lodged in the Somerset County Jail awaiting trial.
