Board of Education's Gaudelli Will Not Seek Second Term
Bill Gaudelli says he expects increased demands in his new role as chairman at Teachers College at Columbia University.
Greetings Friends,
I wanted to send along a short note to let you know that I've decided that I will not seek a second Board of Education term in 2014. It was a difficult choice as I've enjoyed my time representing this great community. I have learned a great deal as a Board member and have been humbled by the opportunity to serve. But I was recently named department chair at Teachers College, Columbia which promises to put many additional demands on my time.Â
I am very hopeful that the next person who takes up the responsibility to fill this seat will do so with the care and diligence required of this important office along with a commitment to doing what is in the best interest of all 6,700 students in SOMSD. I have purposely made this announcement well in advance of the filing deadline (July 28) so that people interested in serving have time to consider the possibility. I would be more than happy to talk with anyone interested in running.Â
I am deeply indebted to many outstanding colleagues on the current Board and look forward to completing my term, set to expire in December, 2014.Â
Enjoy the summer!
