Brownlee, Gartenlaub Win Primary Bids
Candidates will vie for Township Committee seat in November election.

Marlon K. Brownlee, Democrat, and Arthur Gartenlaub, Republican, each won their uncontested primaries for a seat on the Maplewood Township Committee Tuesday.
As of the results reported by the Essex County Clerk's Office at 10:34 p.m. with 100% of the votes counted, Brownlee received 799 or 99.87% of the votes (there was one write-in vote) and Gartenlaub garnered 189 or 100% of the votes.

The two will go head to head in November for the one open seat; each term is for three years.  Brownlee is running for reelection. Gartenlaub has twice run unsuccessfully, most recently last November against incumbents Deputy Mayor Kathleen Leventhal and Jerry Ryan.
