Gas Main Ruptured, Under Repair

The Maplewood Fire Department responded to a report of a potential gas leak on Wyoming and Euclid Avenues Tuesday afternoon, according to Chief Michael Dingelstedt.

During replacement of water mains along Wyoming Avenue, a contractor working for the water company hit a gas main in front of a home, said Dingelstedt. As a precautionary measure, fire fighters secured the area and checked the interior of house, finding no gas leak.

PSEG is repairing the gas main, he said.

"There was no major hazard, it was a small leak," said Dingelstedt.
