Gofundme: Maplewood Woman Lost All Belongings In Christmas Fire

Sandi Gedin was left the house by her father Frank, who passed away in October, and was finishing renovations so her family could move in.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Frank Gedin of Maplewood passed away just two months ago and left his home on 28 Hilton Ave. to his daughter, Sandi. She was finishing renovations and had moved in all of her belongings when a fire broke out in the wee hours of Christmas morning that left the home destroyed.

Now a family friend has started a fundraiser for the family.

Alexander Scott wrote, "Early in the morning on December 25th, a fire broke out in Sandi's home destroying everything inside. This was the home Sandi had received from her late father, Frank, and she had just completed renovating the inside. She had moved all of her belongings in and went to a hotel while the last few touches were completed by the contractors. Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire but the new construction and all of her belongings were destroyed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sandi will need some financial support to get through the next couple of months as she figures out her next steps."
