Kings Celebrates New Look, Expanded Offerings

Store re-opens featuring expanded dairy, frozen food and produce departments.

Kings Market in Maplewood celebrated its grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting and a day of activities on Friday.

As part of a rebranding, the store now features expanded dairy, frozen food, and produce departments—plus a new awning and glass front windows.

The expanded produce department has a wide variety of organic and locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs. The store will also offer chef prepared food, as well as on-the-go items.

Kings will also be bringing back its signature Local Fresh 24/7 Program, bringing customers farm-fresh produce within 24 hours of being hand-picked from local farms across the region.

"I am impressed by the changes and proud of the work Kings has done in the community," said Mayor Vic DeLuca, who helped cut the ribbon with Judy Spires, CEO of Kings.

Kings donated $2,500 to MEND/Meeting Emergency Needs with Dignity - Interfaith Emergency Food Network as part of its “Act Against Hunger” initiative. "We are grateful for the generosity," said Sharon Reilly-Tobin, director of MEND.  "This amount will go a long way towards combating hunger in our community."

Inside the store, there was a festive atmosphere with plants and balloons everywhere. A sheet cake decorated with the Kings logo was served, and customers tasted and sampled various foods.
