Maplewood Marijuana Dispensary Is Open; Starts Regular Hours Tue

MAPELWOOD, NJ — "High. Hello. Welcome," says the sign in the lobby of North Jersey's newest medical marijuana dispensary.

TerrAscend on Friday announced the grand opening of its second medical cannabis dispensary in New Jersey, a 6,500-square-foot facility in Maplewood.

The Apothecarium Maplewood, at 1865 Springfield Ave., officially opened Friday at noon. Its regular 10 a.m.-7 p.m. hours start Tuesday.

The facility notes on its website, "The Apothecarium’s mission is to provide our patients with quality medical cannabis in a welcoming environment with empathy, education and ongoing personal support. We aim to help you find the right medicine for your needs, and to help you understand how to use it safely and effectively."

The company also operates a facility in Phillipsburg.

The Maplewood facility features interactive product displays and a large “bud bar” where customers can see and smell flower products before purchasing, the company said. Patients can access a wide selection of TerrAscend’s Kind Tree flower, vapes and syringes, as well as an assortment of other brands.

The dispensary also features a designated express pickup area for online orders, and digital menus in the lobby.

Medical marijuana technically became legal in New Jersey in 2010. New Jersey's program now serves over 100,000 patients. Find out more about the law and updates here.
