Latest Maplewood Coronavirus Updates: 57 Total Cases

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — As of Thursday, there are a total of 57 cases of new coronavirus in Maplewood. The new coronavirus outbreak in New Jersey and across the nation is having vast impacts in Maplewood , including the closure of schools and many businesses.

There has been one death related to the virus in Maplewood.

The number of cases of the illness caused by the virus, known as COVID-19, continue to rise and additional measures and closures continue to be announced.

SCHOOLS

South Orange and Maplewood schools have extended their closures until at least April 17. MORE

Some local grocery stores will now be open for residents 60+ only before opening to the general public. MORE

HOSPITALS

There is now an Essex County drive-through testing site for Essex County residents who are symptomatic with COVID-19 symptoms. The site is at Weequahic Park in Newark.

CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES

All Maplewood town facilities are closed until further notice.
