LGBTQ Poet Returns To South Orange-Maplewood For Reading
A Columbia High School alum and LGBTQ poet who recently won a prestigious Iowa Poetry Prize returns to her hometown on June 15.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Columbia High School alum and LGBTQ poet who recently won a prestigious Iowa Poetry Prize will be returning to her hometown for a reading at Words Bookstore in Maplewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 15.

Alicia Mountain graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood in 2006. She’s since published a feature-length book of poetry, “High Ground Coward,” and is currently part of the PhD program at the University of Denver.
