Locals Celebrate DOMA's End at Maplewood Town Hall

Supporters rally to cheer rulings Wednesday by Supreme Court.

The news that the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Prop. 8 on Wednesday was cause for joy for many residents of Maplewood and South Orange.
Members of North Jersey Pride hosted a Victory Celebration on the steps of Maplewood Town Hall. Mayor Vic DeLuca, South Orange Village President Alex Torpey and other dignitaries and supporters spoke about what the ruling means to them personally, as well as politically.
