Maplewood Arts Center To Host 'City Without Walls' Art Show
The show is a traveling showcase of small works from artists across the Metropolitan area, starting August 16.

From Maplewood Arts Center: The 1978 Maplewood Arts Center will host the City Without Walls METRO 31 [redux] show, a traveling showcase of small works from artists across the Metropolitan area, starting August 16. This year’s show features 58 works by 48 artists chosen by three jurors: Margaret O’Reilly, Executive Director, New Jersey State Museum, Larry Ossei-Mensah, Independent Curator, Co-Founder of ARTNOIR and Siddhartha Mitter, Culture Journalist and Village Voice Contributor.
cWOW’s annual Metro Show was created over 30 years ago to celebrate the work of talented artists from the metropolitan region, and we are proud to be a part of its tour. The show will be exhibited at the 1978 Maplewood Arts Center August 19, 2017- September 16, 2017. Afterwards it will travel to Ramapo College of New Jersey Potter Library Galleries, then other sites through 2018.

This year’ s cWOW Metro 31 Award Winners are Wendy Letven, who received the cWOW Excellence Award, Onnie C. Strother and Ellen Martin who both received cWOW Merit Awards.
The opening of the show will take place at the arts center's gallery on August 19, from 6 to 8 pm. Our free opening will feature the music of Peter Glynn, Ethan Wollman, and Greg Pise, an up and coming jazz trio from the area. Food and refreshments will be served. The 1978 Maplewood Arts Center is located at 1978, Springfield Avenue, Maplewood.
