Maplewood Construction Continues This Week

Rotating road closures will continue during drainage improvements, bump outs, curbing and brick repaving.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The reworking of the roads in Maplewood continues as the drainage improvements, bump outs, curbing and brick repaving at the intersection of Dunnell Road and Maplewood Avenue wraps up this week, officials said.

Similar work at the intersection of Lenox Place and Maplewood Avenue is also scheduled to begin. This work will include drainage upgrades, ADA-compliant ramp installation, bump out, and curbing. The drainage work at the intersection of Maplewood Avenue and Highland Place may also begin this coming week, officials said.
The Township’s Engineering Department has been making periodic job site inspections throughout the day and reports that the work is being done extremely well, officials said.

The Maplewood Police Department will continue to assist in any pedestrian/vehicular detours as needed during the project, which the Township has instructed the contractor must be kept at a minimum, officials said.

Officials remind residents that there will be no construction or sidewalk/street impediments on Halloween and that the project will be suspended on Nov. 16 until after the New Year to allow for our usual village holiday festivities and shopping period.

According to Maplewood Business Administrator, Sonia Alves-Viveiros, the Township is committed to minimizing inconvenience to the public and merchants during this project, and will continue to provide weekly updates on the Township website, email blasts, Twitter and via the Maplewood Construction News Facebook page.
