Maplewood Drivers, Pedestrians Get Warnings: Speeders, Jaywalkers
In Maplewood, drivers AND pedestrians need to be more alert, town officials say.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — It seems that in Maplewood, drivers and pedestrians need to be more alert.
The Maplewood Traffic Bureau shared the following post last month:
“As a reminder while you are out and about this weekend please watch your speed. There has been a recent increase in motor vehicle accidents throughout the township and we need all motorists to remain alert and aware of their speeds. Let’s all work together to keep our community and loved ones safe!”
But pedestrians also share responsibility in keeping the local roadways accident-free, Maplewood Mayor Victor DeLuca pointed out after police conducted a “high-visibility pedestrian education campaign” in Maplewood Center on July 24.
