Local shops are featuring holiday goodies that will put a spring in your step.

 

Easter is this Sunday, and businesses around town are ready with an array of candy, baked goods and other treats to celebrate the holiday.

No. 165 in Maplewood Village has a sweet selection of candy and other festive items to stuff your Easter basket. Maplewood Stationers has a slew of Easter cards; Kings Market has chocolate bunnies, candy and other holiday themed goods.

The Able Baker on Maplewood Ave. is offering cupcakes and cookies festooned with bunnies, chicks, flowers and carrots, as well as their justly famous carrot cake and other seasonal treats. Visit the website for more info on placing an order.

Gigi's Cupcakes on Springfield Ave. has Strawberry Shortcake cupcakes (vanilla cake with a strawberry jam center topped with strawberry cream) as well as cupcakes decorated with edible royal icing eggs ($6 additional per dozen). Also on Springfield Ave., Piast has a Deluxe Easter Special collection of foods for an authentic Polish Easter, which includes kielbasas, pierogi, Bigos stew, a ham, cherry cheese babka and assorted delicious things. You can order online or stop into the store at 1899 Springfield Ave.
