Maplewood Is A Hotspot For People Leaving New York City: Report
A New York Times story said the demand for housing in counties near the Big Apple is up 44 percent. Sorry, Seinfeld.

MAPLEWOOD AND SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Just because New Yorkers (Jerry Seinfeld) are annoyed with the recent glut of stories about people moving out of New York City, it doesn't mean, apparently, there isn't room for writers to keep writing about it.
On Monday, the New York Times posted a story about people "fleeing to the suburbs" including New Jersey, with home sales in counties bordering the boroughs up 44 percent. The story features photos and quotes about Maplewood, noting that one family left Brooklyn because they were "worried that New York City schools would not open for in-person classes in the fall, so they looked at New Jersey." (They're out of luck; the South Orange-Maplewood district recently announced that it would start the year all remote, just like neighboring Millburn and 240 other New Jersey districts.)
