Maplewood Hydrant Upgrade May Cause Traffic Delays: MPD

MPD: A project to upgrade a fire hydrant in Maplewood is expected to cause traffic delays in the area of Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A project to upgrade a fire hydrant in Maplewood is expected to cause traffic delays in the area of Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, authorities said.

According to the Maplewood Police Department, New Jersey American Water will be performing upgrades to the fire hydrant located at the intersection of Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue beginning on Wednesday, July 11 at approximately 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next day.

Residents should anticipate delays and plan alternate routes. The work is anticipated to take “two to three nights” to complete, police said.
