"Regarding the breakout of the age of our cases," McGehee wrote Tuesday, "we are seeing numbers all over the board. According to our Essex County COVID-19 breakout, as of last week, 9.2 percent of all positive cases were 17 or younger. Our age range from yesterday's Maplewood numbers ranged from 1 to 86. This evening was 26 to 75."

He said he hopes to get teachers vaccinated soon. After a week of hybrid learning, the South Orange-Maplewood schools went remote starting Wednesday when teachers expressed concerns about the virus. Schools are tentatively set to go back to hybrid learning Monday — if a potential snowfall in the forecast doesn't interfere. Read More: Maplewood Schools Expected To Resume On-Site Learning Monday
