Maplewood To Restrict Parking For Safe School Drop-Off

Parts of Berkshire, Burroughs and Union will be off limits, temporarily, as part of the proposed ordinance.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - In an effort to promote safer pedestrian travel the Maplewood Township Committee is poised to impose parking restrictions on Berkshire Road, Burroughs Way and Union Avenue as part of Safe Routes to School project.

Ordinance 2959-19, introduced Tuesday, would restrict street side parking to accommodate the safe movement of pedestrians and school drop-off at or near Clinton Elementary School during peak times.

This ordinance is borne of a suggestion from the Township of Maplewood Engineering Department.
