Maplewood Schools Go Remote For Rest Of Week
After four months of remote learning due to coronavirus and just one week of hybrid education, the district will stay remote due to snow.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood schools will remain remote for the rest of the week following a nor'easter. It's a situation the students, teachers, and parents are used to, as the district has been remote for most of the year, reopening for hybrid education two weeks ago only to go remote again after some controversy.
The district made this announcement Tuesday:

Due to safety precautions and the impact of the storm, SOMSD Schools will operate under a district-wide virtual (remote) instruction model for the rest of this week.
Wednesday – Thursday, February 3-4, all students will learn virtually and we will continue into our normally scheduled virtual Friday.

Central office will be closed and staff will work remotely. Food distribution will be provided for the rest of the week at CHS, Maplewood Middle School, Seth Boyden, and South Orange Middle School from 12:30 pm – 2 pm. All ancillary activities and transportation services are canceled.
We look forward to seeing students/staff back in our buildings on Monday, February 8. Be safe and warm.
