Maplewood Water Main Replacements Continues

The utility work is expected to cease toward the end of April.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - It has been a century in the making but New Jersey American Water is replacing an aging four and six inch water main that was installed in 1910’s with new 8 inch and 12 inch ductile iron main along Mountain Avenue.

The piping runs from Ridgewood Road to Maplewood Avenue and Maplewood Avenue from Mountain Avenue to Winthrop Place, and Maplewood Avenue from Jefferson Avenue to Beach Place and Beach Place from Woodland Road to Maplewood Avenue.

A number of fire hydrants, service lines and meter pits are also going to be installed with this work, officials said.
