Maplewood Company Got Virus Relief Funds

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The federal government has sent more than $2.4 billion to companies in New Jersey for coronavirus relief efforts since Congress passed the CARES Act in March.

Approximately $244,000 of that federal money ended up in Maplewood, according to the Federal Procurement Data System.

The money went to Maplewood-based FG Management Group, a management company that, according to its website, "is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, and (8a) certified. We serve many businesses in the public industry, as well as many government agencies nationwide."

They provide management, maintenance, transportation, and other services for government agencies and businesses, according to the website.

The company received two payments:

• $243,000 from the Air Force
• $956.25 from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Congress passed the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27. In addition to direct aid to people who lost their jobs and the Paycheck Protection Program to help small businesses avoid laying off workers, the act included direct government spending for fighting the coronavirus.
