MAPLEWOOD, NJ — There's often a little more snow near the mountains, even South Mountain. As New Jersey gears up for another snowfall this Thursday, the National Weather Service predicts that the Maplewood area may get 3 to 5 inches of snow that day, followed by 2 to 4 more inches at night.

After this past weekend's ice storm knocked out power to more than 18,000 New Jersey, weather watchers are keeping a wary eye on what's ahead.

For Maplewood and South Orange, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch starting Thursday at 6 a.m. through Friday at 6 a.m.
