MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Some new sidewalk pavers along Maplewood Avenue will put some spring in the step of residents and visitors of Maplewood Village when the work is completed.
The project, being done in tandem with traffic-calming bump outs on Maplewood Avenue’s west side will begin Monday.
During the course of the project the Township will advise of any loss of parking spots, and temporary closures of sidewalks and/or vehicular detours. During the project, materials and equipment will be staged in the upper Burgdorff parking lot, resulting in the temporary loss of some parking spots. The Maplewood Police Department will secure the staging area, and assist in any vehicular detours as needed during the project.

The project schedule (subject to change due to inclement weather):
Oct. 1 through Oct. 5: Contractor will install curb bump outs at three intersections of the west side of Maplewood Avenue: at Durand Road, Baker Street, and Lenox Place. The bump outs will increase the sidewalk area and slow vehicular traffic. Sidewalks in these areas will be intermittently partially closed.
