Olive & Lizzy Closes, Mona Lisa Opens
Clothing store shuts its doors while framing store opens in a new location, both on the same day.
Â
Olive & Lizzy, the women's and girl's clothing store at 163 Maplewood Ave. that opened in September, has shut its doors. The shop replaced Sweet Relish, a kitchen and home store.
The owner, Mary Vayas, posted a message on Facebook telling customers the store was closing and that gift cards would be accepted at No. 165, Vayas' other store. She and her husband, Angelo, also own the Village Trattoria restaurants.

Owner Krista Hyer said she was happy to have the extra room. For the past ten years, she has operated out of two different spaces on Maplewood Avenue, including sharing space at Berc's Art Gallery.
Hyer did some cosmetic renovations to the new, 800-square-foot space, which is light filled and well-organized. She has plans to carry more merchandise, including handcrafted, fabric mirrors and frames. Hyer said she will host a grand opening once she is settled in.
