Post Office Petition, Primary Day this Week in Maplewood
A look at the week ahead.

Reminder: Recycling Day is Monday.
The Essex County Primary Election will be held Tuesday.  In one Republican (Arthur Gartenlaub) and one Democrat (Marlon K. Brownlee) will each run uncontested to represent their parties in the November election. Patch will present full candidate reports before the primary.

Because of the primaries, the Township Committee meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday will be rescheduled to Wednesday. On the agenda: a discussion of the plan to redevelop the Maplewood Post Office.Â
Before the meeting, Patch will report on a group of citizens who are circulating a petition asking the Township Committee to slow down and reexamine the Post Office Redevelopment Plan process.Â

As part of North Jersey Pride Week: an Anti-Bullying Panel with the family of Tyler Clementi on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Columbia High School. Hosted by the Tyler Clementi Foundation, GLSEN, CHS gay-straight alliance in a discussion with Tyler Clementi's family to raise awareness around bullying.  Open to the public and free of charge.

Two other events at Columbia High School this week: CHS Senior Recognitio Night on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and CHS Jazz Night on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
