Short Hills Financial Advisor Earns National Recognition

Rachel Schwarz is a Finalist in the 2019 Invest in Others Awards for her work with Greater Newark Conservancy

Newark, N.J. – July 19, 2019 – Rachel Schwarz, Financial Advisor at The Short Hills Group at UBS Financial Services Inc. in Short Hills, has been announced as one of three national finalists for the Community Service Award as part of the 13th Annual Invest in Others Awards. Notably, Schwarz is the only female finalist across all 5 of the Invest in Others Award categories. Schwarz is being honored for her work with Greater Newark Conservancy, which will receive a $10,000 donation from the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. If Schwarz wins her category, the donation will increase to $40,000.

The Invest in Others Awards program recognizes the charitable work of financial advisors in communities across the country and around the world. Advisors are nominated for actively giving back to nonprofits to improve their communities and make a difference in the lives of others. Invest in Others received hundreds of nominations this year. Finalists are selected based on their leadership, dedication, contribution, inspiration, and impact on a nonprofit and the community it serves.
Newark born, Rachel Schwarz is committed through her work with Greater Newark Conservancy to improving lives through programs in environmental and nutritional education, community greening and job training. Schwarz's mother served the Conservancy decades ago and, after she died, Schwarz asked to sit on the board and carry out her mother's vision through volunteerism. Over the past eleven years, she has served on a variety of committees including the Finance, Nominating and Board Development Committees.

Greater Newark Conservancy promotes environmental stewardship to improve the quality of life in New Jersey's urban communities. Schwarz advances the Conservancy's mission by serving as a premier fundraiser and ambassador to the Jewish community. Through these efforts, she helped secure a $1.5 million challenge grant from a major funder to support the renovation of a historic former synagogue. Overall, Schwarz's "can do" attitude and positive influence is a great asset for Greater Newark Conservancy.
Awards will be presented at the 13th Annual Invest in Others Awards Gala, a premier event attended by over 700 financial advisors and financial services executives, on September 26, 2019 in Boston, Mass.
