Seth Boyden's 3rd Annual 5K is Saturday, April 20 in the South Mountain Reservation. This annual event raises funds for the Seth Boyden Demonstration School PTA. Race starts at 9 a.m.; Kids Fun Run starts 10 a.m. Register at http://www.sethboyden.com/5K-2013.

Girls Can Do These Jobs Too!! is on Saturday at 1 p.m. An educational mini career expo and panel discussion that features successful women in traditionally male dominated professions, the event will be held in SOPAC’s Loft in South Orange. Register here.

The Achieve Foundation and the Columbia High School Alumni Association will host  a gala evening celebrating the contributions of one of the community's leading citizens and champions, on Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at Orange Lawn Country Club in South Orange.
The event will honor longtime Maplewood resident and former Mayor Fred Profeta and will help fund the Take a Seat (TAS) Campaign, a joint effort of Achieve and the South Orange - Maplewood School District (SOMSD) to restore the historic Columbia High School (CHS) auditorium to its former splendor.Â

As part of the  Studio B presents "Searching for Sugarman"on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 pm at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts. The film solves the mystery of what happened to Sixto Rodriguez, the 1970s American folksinger who changed the course of South African history - and didn't even know it. Following the screening, David Brancaccio (of NPR/PBS fame) will lead a conversation with a panel of local gurus, including DJ TROUBLE from Jersey's only freeform radio station, WFMU.
