South Mountain YMCA Early Childhood Learning Center Gears Up for Books, Food and Halloween

Children at the center will spend a week this month learning about healthy food and preparing a healthy breakfast.

The Early Childhood Learning Center at South Mountain YMCA, after coming away from a successful arts day, is getting ready to pack the month of October with literature, good eats and Halloween fun.

The YMCA would like to remind parents of the following activities:

Fall Pre-School Classes

Registration for second-session fall classes has begun. Parents may view the preschool class grid here and call 973-762-4145 to register.

Week of October 14: All Books Book Fair

The book fair will continue until next Monday, Oct. 20. Each class will have a wish list for their classrooms. The fair will take place in the Baby Gym.

Oct. 22: New Parent Meet and Greet

The new parent meet and greet will take place at the center from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the first Parent Advisory Committee meeting will follow from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Oct. 24: Food Day

The children at the center will be learning about healthy food all week and celebrate that Friday by helping to prepare a healthy breakfast in the classroom. Children will also participate in games as part of the Healthy U curriculum. Parents are invited to attend.

Oct. 31: Halloween

All are welcome to the Halloween parade, which begins at 10 a.m.
