South Orange-Maplewood Schools Go Remote On Monday Due To Snow
Hold on to your hats; it's going to be another remote day in the South Orange-Maplewood schools, but this time for a nor'easter.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The students of the South-Orange Maplewood public schools will have another remote school day on Monday, the district announced on Sunday — this time due to an impending snowfall of a foot or more.
The district announced, "Due to the anticipated severe weather conditions, tomorrow, Mon., February 1, 2021, will be a District-wide virtual (remote) instruction day for all students/staff. The central office will be closed and staff will work remotely. All in-person activities, food distribution, and transportation services are canceled. We will continue to monitor weather conditions tomorrow and notify families/staff regarding Tuesday, Feb. 2 instruction decisions. Be safe and warm. South Orange & Maplewood School District."
The National Weather Service issued an alert Sunday afternoon predicting 16 to 22 inches of total snowfall from Sunday night through early Tuesday morning in North Jersey.
