St. Joseph’s CYO is now accepting registrations for both girls and boys in grades 2 to 12 for the 2018-2019 basketball season. CYO basketball is open to all girls and boys living in the Maplewood-South Orange community and who are parishioners at one of the local area Catholic parishes and attend a Parish CCD-Religious Education Program or a Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Newark.
Last year St. Joseph’s CYO had over 235 players participating on 22 teams that played in the Union County CYO Youth Basketball League. After player evaluations, teams are comprised of athletes based on their grade in school. The high school division is open to boys who are not on the Freshman, JV or Varsity roster at the high school they attend.
Starting in late October, teams will begin to practice once or twice during the week and will play games on weekends at St. Joseph’s Parish Gym beginning after Thanksgiving and ending in mid March.
