Votes on Woman's Club Purchase, School Budget This Week in Maplewood

Two key meetings -- and votes -- are on the horizon

The South Orange - Maplewood Board of Education will hold a special board meeting on Monday, March 4 to discuss and vote on a preliminary 2013-14 budget to send to the county for approval. The Maplewood Township Committee will meet on Tuesday, March 5. Members of the public may speak. On the agenda:

  • a presentation by BOE president Beth Daugherty on the school budget; 
  • a vote to introduce a bond ordinance for the purchase of the Maplewood Woman's Club and a vote on a resolution authorizing the purchase;
  • discussion of designating the Woman's Club a historic landmark; 
  • an ordinance on final passage regarding changes to parking on Woodland Road.

 

Maplewood Patch will have an upcoming story on plans to introduce a "Walking School Bus" to Tuscan Elementary School.

 

Reminder: the district's elementary schools will have four-hour days on Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 because of parent-teacher conferences. Monday, March 11 also will be a four-hour day.
