Local Dance Team brings home 2 National Titles

The Jersey Girls All Star Dance Team from Middlesex NJ competed at the 2019 National Dance Team Championships this past weekend. The NDTC is administered by Universal Dance Association, a division of Varsity Spirit. This year, the competition took place February 1st through 3rd at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The best All Star, Junior High and High School teams from all over the country took to the stage to compete for their chance at a National Championship title and a bid to The Dance Worlds 2019. The Jersey Girls performed five dances and medaled in all five. They were named 2019 National Champions in the Senior Small Jazz Division and also the Youth Small Jazz Division. The local team also won the Silver medal in Senior Large Lyrical/Contemporary division and the Bronze in the Junior Jazz and Senior Small Pom Division. They also won a bid to the 2019 Dance Worlds for their impressive performances in the Senior Small Jazz, Senior Large Lyrical/Contemporary and Senior Small Pom Division.
The Jersey Girls All Stars study dance and acro-tumbling at Central Jersey Dance and Gymnastics in Middlesex. The team is coached by Kristianne Jankowicz, Joann Abbate and Ashley Doyle. The team was also the 2017 Junior Jazz National Champions and the 2014 and 2016 Youth Jazz National Champions.
