It took police nearly a year to piece together what happened that night and they now say they have evidence that Ramos had consumed alcohol and was traveling at speeds of over 70 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone immediately before colliding with Boateng’s Toyota. Ramos had also just run two red lights prior to the collision, said the Union County prosecutor.

Boateng sustained multiple serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead that same day.
