Trunk or Treat Cancelled In Middlesex Borough

Due to low participation and insufficient sign-ups, Middlesex cancelled Trunk or Treat, scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 27.

MIDDLESEX BOROUGH, NJ - Update: Trunk or Treat Cancelled in Middlesex Borough Due to low participation and insufficient sign-up applications, Middlesex Borough and the Department of Recreation have announced that the Town-Wide Trunk or Treat event planned for Friday, October 27 has been cancelled.

“Unfortunately, the decision has been made to cancel the Trunk or Treat event due to low sign-ups,” said Recreation Director Noreen Wilpiszeski. “I hope that we may be able to continue events similar to this in the future and provide our residents with programs that are engaging and help bring our community together.”

Middlesex Borough and the Department of Recreation would like to invite Borough residents and families to attend the Town-wide Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 27 at Mountainview Park from 6 - 8 p.m.

“This Borough Trunk or Treat serves as a safe alternative to trick-or-treating for families in our area,” said Mayor Ron DiMura. “I hope that our residents with younger children will participate in this event.”

Children ages 9 and under are encouraged to participate in the activities. To get into the Halloween spirit, cars that will be participating in giving out candy will be entered in a car-decorating contest!

Residents who wish to participate, decorate their car and hand out candy must pre-register with Recreation by emailing recreation@middlesexboro-nj.gov or by calling (732) 356-7400 ext 258. Vehicles are limited to 100 spots so reserve your place early! Participating vehicles must supply 300 pieces of candy. Set up will begin at 5 p.m.
