Atlantic Highlands Welcomes 3 New Businesses
Atlantic Highlands is happy to announce that they are back in business.

Yellow flags are proudly draped on each of the 102 lampposts along First Avenue, flying from the Historical Society’s “Welcome to Atlantic Highlands” sign off of Route 36 to the Municipal Harbor.
The concept of the vibrant flags, provided by the Borough of Atlantic Highlands in conjunction with the Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce, is to create a wave of color that highlights the special events sponsored by organizations in town.
The Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce Car Show was the first to promote their event with the yellow flags, with the Atlantic Highlands Fire Department currently utilizing the flags to announce the Fireman’s Fair and the Borough fireworks.

The Borough Street Department provided the labor for the initial installation of the brackets and the straps as well as provided the manpower to hang and remove the flags. Organizations interested in promoting their events in town can utilize the flags. A ten days notice to Borough Hall is required in order to install the flags.
“We’ve been sleeping…but now we’re back with new businesses,” said Chuck Lero, president of the Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce. “They are revitalizing the community.”

In the past two months, Christine’s Italian Ristorante, Gianni’s Italian Specialty Food, and A.J. Dillon’s Gallery of Art have all set up shop on First Avenue.
While Superstorm Sandy took on a toll on local businesses and restaurants, just about all have rebuilt, including the restaurants in the Harbor, Lero said.
“We’re open,” Lero said. “We’re refueled and we’re back in business.”
