Charlie Kirk Vigil In Middletown Monday Night, Plus Photos From Keyport, Brick

KEYPORT, NJ ? There was a vigil Monday night in Keyport to mourn the killing of conservative Christian thinker Charlie Kirk.
There is also a vigil in Middletown Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. at Croydon Hall at 900 Leonardville Road.
The vigil was attended by hundreds, many carrying candles and American flags, said attendees. It was held at 7 p.m. Monday at 55 West Front Street. The American flag was lowered to half staff at the flag pole that is there.

This was a candlelight vigil and it was meant to show support for Kirk's family, said organizers, which included the Keyport Republican campaign.
"We come together for a candlelight vigil in support of the Charlie Kirk family," said organizers. "This gathering is a moment of unity and compassion, and it is **not about politics.** Let's honor and support one another in a spirit of love and community. Bring your candles, flowers and anything else you'd like to share."

A Charlie Kirk vigil in Ocean County Sunday drew nearly 4,000 people. According to the Brick Patch, that vigil was held on Windward Beach Park in Brick. Pt. Pleasant mayor and Assemblyman Paul Kanitra (R-Ocean), Assemblywoman Vicky Flynn (R-Monmouth), Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger (R-Monmouth) (he is also the former Middletown mayor), Moms for Liberty activist Alexandra Bougher and Turning Point organizer Jarrett Branch all spoke, according to Tap Into.
Joe Loughlin of Brick, who organized Sunday's vigil, worked with Chris Lyle of Jersey Coast Emergency News to promote the vigil, which was livestreamed on that page. Brick Police said there were between 3,000 and 4,000 people in attendance.
Kirk was assassinated Sept. 10 during a public appearance at a university in Utah.
