County Will Spray For Mosquitoes Thursday In Middletown
This is due to evidence of West Nile virus in the area, said the county. Here's where they'll spray early Thursday morning:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ ? The Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division will conduct an adult mosquito control operation in Middletown Township between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, weather permitting.
This is due to evidence of West Nile virus in the area, said the county.
The area being sprayed is the residential streets east of Harmony Road, south of Cherry Farm Road, west of Tindall Road and north of Oakdale Drive, Daniel Drive and Tindall Park.

The Mosquito Control Division will apply Duet using Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayers mounted in the bed of a pick-up truck. A map of the areas to be treated and a fact sheet will be posted here: https://www.visitmonmouth.com/...
?West Nile virus peaks annually in August and September,? said Commissioner Deputy Director Sue Kiley, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services. ?People spending time outside should take precautions such as using repellents or wearing long-sleeve shirts and long pants to avoid mosquito bites. Residents can also reduce mosquitoes by dumping any containers holding water around their property.?

?Monmouth County remains committed to reducing the threat of mosquito-borne diseases through active surveillance, precise treatments, and vigilant monitoring,? said Commissioner Director Tom Arnone. ?County inspectors are also available to assess properties for standing water, a common breeding ground for mosquitoes. When larvae are detected, they?ll either treat the area or eliminate the water source. Residents can schedule an inspection by calling 732-542-3630.?
