Food for Fines and Digital Library Cards

Pay your fines with food bank donations. Digital library cards for Middletown students 17 and under to complete summer reading.

Food for Fines is back at the MTPL!

The program will run July 1st –August 31st . Each non-perishable food item donated will eliminate $1.00 of late fees from a cardholder's account, up to a maximum of $10.00 in late fees waived during the program event (although customers are welcome to make further food donations). Fees associated with lost materials and collection agency fees cannot be waived through this program. No expired food will be accepted.

MTPL will bring donations to all of the local food banks on a weekly basis, including Middletown Helps Its Own, Calico Cat, Project Paul, and Lunch Break.

In addition, any Middletown student (17 years & under) who cannot check out books because of a lost library card or late fines can get a digital library card. Students can do their Summer Reading through Overdrive and Hoopla using these cards. Digital library cards are available until August 31st at the Reference Desk.
